The centers activities started with the idea of using communication for advancement of humanity, particularly, reproductive health development and social transformation. This was further amplified through the use of communication for reproductive health education which was supported by MacArthur Foundation under its Fund for Leadership Development (FLD) program in Nigeria. The transformation of CCRHS into a viable and innovative NGO is as a result of the commitment and personal sacrifices of its founder with the support of skilled and dedicated staff who participated in the community - based reproductive health and family life education activities. In the few years that CCRHS has existed, it has addressed critical issues of concern to its immediate community such as maternal mortality and morbidity, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) including HIV/AIDS, adolescents social, sexual and reproductive health problems through advocacy, workshops, seminars and community outreach communication campaign and Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) intervention packages.
